Jeffrey Bilhuber is one of the most prolific interior designers of our time. With an impressive roster of A-list clientele, including what I would imagine to be one of the most discerning clients a designer could have, Anna Wintour, among them. Since establishing Bilhuber & Associates, Bilhuber’s distinctly American design sensibility has breathed new life into traditional interiors by mixing design periods and ideas with confidence and panache. As a result, Bilhuber’s iconic work has been featured extensively in every top shelter publication. In addition, he has been named to Architectural Digest‘s AD 100 list, ELLE DECOR‘s A-List, and House Beautiful‘s list of Top 100 Interior Designers numerous times. In addition to being an incredibly gifted designer, Bilhuber possesses a wicked sense of humor and an endearing sentimentality, part of which lead him to purchase and lovingly renovate and 18th century farmhouse in the charming hamlet of Locust Valley on Long Island’s North Shore. The 315 year old house house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since Bilhuber infused the house with his deft touch, it has become iconic, but it is time for he and his 12 year old son to move on to the next chapter. Being the steward of an old house is a major commitment and Bilhuber would like to travel the world with his son to give him a sense of wordiness. They say home is where the heart is.
