Hello everyone, Nancy of Marcus Design visiting you today! I’m happy to be back with an installment of Dissecting the Details, looking into the work of the lovely and talented New York-based designer Young Huh. We all collectively celebrated her creativity in capturing an artist’s loft as Paloma’s house-mate at the recent Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse (pictured above). I’m going dissect part of that space as well as other bathroom designs Young has created over the years. Let’s see how she makes the magic happen with 3 key elements:
This one makes me happy, because I will never tire of a gorgeous custom vanity, a seamless glass shower enclosure, or the perfect polished hardware and lighting. Young ensures not only that the basics are there, but that they will stand the test of time. And of course in an investment space like a bathroom, that is an important element to maintain.
Again in each of these spaces you can see a glorious mix of tile patterns and marble slabs, but also note the special detailing brought in by unexpected paint colors, ceiling lacquer, window coverings and wallpaper! These details truly make the design. There’s no way you’d walk into any of Young’s creations and soon forget about them, they leave something special behind.
Young hits it out of the park every time and I especially love her bathroom designs. To see more of her work, visit her portfolio here, and follow her on Instagram here. Until next time,
