Happy Friday! I am heading home from Atlanta later today after a wonderful book signing at Bungalow Classic last night. Thank you to our wonderful hosts and to everyone who came out to support Amanda Lindroth and I. It was such a lovely and fun evening. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my stories about my anxiety over turbulence on flights. I received so many messages– it seems many of us share this anxiety, so thank you for sharing tips for what works for you. Most people suggested a low dosage of Xanax, CBD oil, and noise-cancelling headphones. I’ve only tried the latter so far. Have any of these things worked for you? Here is a little more of what has been on my mind this week…
Design: I am itching to go to Paris again. I honestly never tire of it and with the opening of our store soon, it is necessary to go to source products and antiques and to get inspired. With Paris on my mind, it’s no surprise that I am loving this chic New York apartment that feels more like a Parisian Pied-a-Terre designed by the talented Neal Beckstedt.
Style: I think it’s safe to say that Lauren Santo Domingo has never had a fashion misstep. She looks stunning in everything including this exquisite mint-colored Giambattista Valli gown she posted on her Instagram a few days ago. Simply divine!
Watch: I am so excited that season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will start on Amazon Prime next Wednesday, December 5th! It is such a smart, funny, and charming show. I just couldn’t get enough of the first season. Watch the trailer for season 2 here.
Read: On the flight to Atlanta, I read the latest issue of Entrepreneur magazine which includes a very insightful interview with Sarah Blakeney, the founder of Spanx who created a billion dollar business. It was so interesting to hear her perspective on innovation, ideation, and finding the right people to work with you in your organization. You can read the full article here.
Events: Before my book tour winds down in time for Christmas, I have a few more stops including Thompson Hanson in Houston tomorrow morning, December 1st from 10:00 – 11:00 am as part of their Christmas Market. There will be plenty of Tiny Boxwoods’s famous chocolate chip cookies, plenty of holiday cheer, and a chance to get signed books in time for the holidays! This will be my last book signing in Houston this year, so I hope to see you there! Next Thursday, December 6th, I’ll be at Bear Hill Interiors in Little Rock for a book signing from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm and then I’ll be in Dallas at the Brunschwig & Fils showroom unveiling the space I designed for them on Thursday, December 13th from 10:00 am – 11:30 am!
