As I was traveling to New York yesterday to kick off the first leg of my book tour this week, I got some exciting news: La Dolce Vita is a finalist for domino’s second annual Design Blog Awards for Best Interior Design Blog! I’ve read domino since the beginning and it was one of the first design magazines I really connected with back in its original incarnation. You may recall that my former home was featured a few years ago and Tate and I appeared on the cover of the Winter 2014 issue, which was my first national magazine cover!

Without sounding like a clichéd red carpet interview at the Academy Awards, it truly is thrilling just to be nominated. I’ve been writing La Dolce Vita for more than 10 years, so to see that people are reading, resonating, and coming back to LDV makes the thousands—yes, thousands!—of hours working on this passion project worth every second. I’m also honored and humbled to be nominated alongside some of the industry’s best and brightest voices in design in the various categories—Will Taylor of Bright Bazaar, Erin Hiemstra of Apartment 34, Gen and Ben Sohr of Pencil & Paper Co., Kirsten Grove of Simply Grove, Sarah Sherman Samuel, and Shea and Syd McGee of Studio McGee.
Voting is open now through Sunday, September 23 and you can vote once a day. I’d be eternally grateful if you (and all of your coworkers!) would cast your pick for LDV. Like the blog, you’ve always been the most important piece of this puzzle. LDV is just a dream without you.
