Happy Friday! What a whirlwind week it has been! Thank you to all of you who have helped make my book, Dream Design Live a huge success. I am so grateful for your support and just as thankful for your understanding as I self-promote more than usual for a while. In the end, this book isn’t just about me, but about the team behind the scenes who helped me bring it to life. I wrote it with my audience in mind, hoping it could be more than just a book filled with images, but a useful resource filled with tangible design advice and valuable takeaways. Last night, we had the most incredible book signing at Found in Houston. We had an amazing turn out and it was truly a night to remember. A huge thanks to Ruth Davis, owner of Found and to everyone who came out last night! I’ll be home this weekend, gearing up for a the next round of book events in New York next week. In the meantime, here is what is on my radar as of late.
Design: With the heat and humidity that has taken over the country lately, it feels like summer will never end! If I were lucky enough to spend the season in Nantucket at this charming home designed by Katie Martinez, I might hope for an endless summer!
Style: I’ve always loved Victoria Beckham. Back in the Spice Girls days, Posh was my favorite and it has been fascinating to see her evolution since then. She has a reputation for being very serious and never smiling, but it seems that underneath it all she has a great, self-deprecating sense of humor. Have you seen this hilarious video she recently did for British Vogue?
Watch: We finally saw Crazy Rich Asians last weekend and both Fabian and I really enjoyed it! It is both hilarious and heartwarming and is also filled with stunning scenery! I’d highly recommend it.
Beauty: I randomly discovered a favorite new skincare find that also happens to be a bargain at Whole Foods of all places. I was checking out and saw some sheet masks on sale at the register one day. Since I’d never tried a sheet mask, I figured spending $5 on one was a safe bet. I used the Acure Radically Rejuvenating Sheet Mask which includes Argan Oil, Vitamin C, and Hyaluronic Acid for the first time on Sunday and I am in love! I was a little unsure at first because it feels really wet when you first apply it to your face, but after a couple of minutes, your skin starts to feel a bit tighter and there is a bit of a tingling sensation. I found that wearing it for 15 minutes before bed was super relaxing. As soon as I removed it and finished rubbing leftover serum into my skin, I noticed my skin was glowing, a couple of blemishes had completely disappeared, my skin looked supple, and fine lines were hardly noticeable. Needless to say, I went back to Whole Foods and stocked up the other day and used one again the night before my book signing the other day and loved it just as much. Maybe I haven’t gone to the right facialist (I actually love mine), but I would say the results from this bargain mask are much more visible and lasting than those of any facial I’ve had.
Shop: While we are on the topic of beauty, Neiman Marcus is having their highly-anticipated yearly Beauty Event. A $125 beauty purchase will earn you this year’s beauty tote filled with goodies from brands like La Mer, Jo Malone, Molton Brown, Sisley Paris and many others. Spend $350 and you’ll also get a rose gold travel beauty brush set. With all of the money you’ll save with the great sheet mask I mentioned, you’ll have more to spend on your regular beauty must-haves during the NM Beauty Event! Don’t miss this La Mer Starter Set, the Daily Essentials Set from one of my personal go-tos, Tata Harper, and this Diptyque Mini Candle Gift Set which would make a perfect hostess or holiday gift.
