This will undoubtedly be a very different Memorial Day for everyone. While this has always been a day to commemorate and honor those who have given their lives for our country, it also marks the beginning of summer. In the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the usual summer plans have changed for everyone. Your children may not go off to camp, summer trips are cancelled, and the socializing we are used to looks quite different these days. If you’re lucky enough to be on our near the water, I envy you. We will be spending the holiday weekend at home, just as we have every other weekend.
If you’re looking for something to watch over the long weekend, I previously recommended Belgravia on Epix. The period British drama from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is such a lovely distraction that you could easily watch over a long weekend. On the opposite end of the spectrum, but also British, I didn’t realize until this week that Season 3 of Killing Eve is now airing on AMC! It’s such an intriguing, sharp show that you just can’t turn away from. Lastly, Fabian and I have been watching The Last Dance, the Michael Jordan documentary on ESPN. I’m not a huge sports fan, but I remember Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls being such a huge cultural phenomenon during my middle school and high school days. It’s such a well done sports documentary and we’ve enjoyed every episode so far. It’s always fascinating to have the curtain pulled back!
On the podcast front, I have been recording a lot of new episodes of The Style Files. Last week, I released episodes with Schumacher Creative Director Dara Caponigro and designer Alexa Hampton. This week, we have San Francisco designer Palmer Weiss and Southern California designer and shop owner Amy Meier. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss a beat!
Lastly, we are all dressing and living differently than we did before this all happened. If you’re looking to spruce up your home or wardrobe, don’t miss the following sales this weekend!
