It’s Friday again! Can you believe it? We’ve made it through a seventh week at home. This particular week has been tough. We would have arrived in Paris yesterday to celebrate Fabian’s 40th birthday tomorrow. I had everything planned from visits to our favorite museums, long leisurely lunches, antiquing, time spent wandering, and dinners at some of our favorite restaurants. Of course, we realize we are incredibly lucky to be safe, healthy, employed, and together, but it still stings a little bit knowing that his big birthday will be spent in our living room rather than in one of our favorite cities. I can’t wait until we are able to travel again! I have realized just how important it is for my creative soul. Between keeping up with our client projects and scheduling, writing interview questions, and recording the podcast, this been a strangely busy time and I am starting to feel a little burned out. I am going to make a concerted effort to try to unplug this weekend and Fabian’s big birthday is the perfect excuse! In the meantime, here are my favorite distractions of the week.

ONE: The newest episodes of The Style Files podcast include Celerie Kemble which was released on Wednesday and Gen Sohr of Pencil and Paper Co. which is launching today! Paloma & Co has teamed up with Gen to giveaway a series of her color studies as well as a set of embroidered cocktail napkins and some fun glasses, so be sure to head over to @shoppalomaandco and @pencilandpaperco to enter on Instagram! Most importantly, these episodes are filled with great insight and advice!

TWO: Speaking of Instagram, I will be on @shoppalomaandco‘s Instagram Live at 1:00 pm CST today sharing my top tips for how to style your bookshelves! Be sure to tune in and send me your questions.

THREE: A major bright spot this week has been the amazing flower delivery that came yesterday. A couple of stylish New Yorkers, Town & Country Editor in Chief and Elle Decor Editorial Director, Stellene Volandes and gallery owner Liz O’Brien posted about their floral deliveries from Belle Fleur. Belle Fleur is a high end florist in New York who has pivoted in the midst of having her regular business shutdown by Coronavirus establishing a new service, Box of Blooms, that delivers a beautiful assortment of flowers shipped overnight from Holland direct to your door. We received a bounty of coral peonies, pink fringe tulips, and white hyacinth. Flowers bring me such joy and with it being Fabian’s birthday, they are making the house feel so much more cheerful. Be sure to check them out if you’re in need of some floral cheer. They deliver anywhere in the US!

FOUR: In my regular life, I always have my nails manicured. If you know me, you know that I always have them painted in my signature red. I usually get gel nails since I typically travel a lot, so I go every two weeks. While being at home, it has felt like I have constantly been doing my nails to keep them looking presentable. Regular polish tends to chip easily. My latest discovery is Chanel’s Le Gel Coat. Needing a break from high-maintenance red nail polish which chips easily in a regular application, I opted for Chanel’s New Dawn which is a pretty warm gray. I like it, though I don’t feel like myself without my red nails! That being said, the game changer is the Le Gel Coat top coat. It makes my nails unbelievably shiny and once dry, my nails immediately felt so much stronger. It is supposed to make your nail polish last as long as gel polish without the damaging UV light. So far, after a few days, I am happy to report that my polish hasn’t chipped and they still look shiny and like a professional manicure!

FIVE: Tata Harper’s 100% natural, non-toxic skincare line has been one of my favorites for several years now. Admittedly, my skincare routine also includes conventional products, but I find it important to use non-toxic products as much as possible. Aside from being natural and smelling divine, Tata’s products actually work and have given me wonderful results and luminous skin since I started using them. My daily, go-to products include the Regenerating Cleanser, Rejuvenating Serum, Beautifying Oil, Retinoic Nutrient Face Oil, and the Resurfacing Mask which I brush on a couple of times a week and sometimes layer over the Regenerating Cleanser for twenty minutes per Tata’s recommendation for a spa-like treatment. If you haven’t used this line yet, this Daily Essentials Set is a great way to try some of the best Anti-aging products. Best of all, Tata Harper is currently offering 25% off on orders over $100 using code MOTHERSDAY so don’t miss out!

Have a wonderful weekend and stay healthy and safe!
