{A Charming 1800s Greek Revival Captain’s House in Sag Harbor}
I have a feeling 2019 is going to be the year that sees the return of color and a more traditional aesthetic. After too many years of gray upon gray, “transitional” interiors, I’m happy to see designers and homeowners embracing the classics as well as bold and beautiful colors. That being said, I still love a crisp, neutral interior featuring an interesting mix of pieces and textures. Therein lies the key– there must be layers and personality to make a neutral interior interesting! I digress, back to the cheerful home at hand, in this case, an 1810s sea captain’s home on the most charming block in Sag Harbor, New York designed by my friend, Nick Olsen and featured in this month’s issue of Traditional Home. The homeowner, Michael Lorber, is a style savvy Manhattan real estate broker you may remember from the first season of Million Dollar Listing New York. Lorber turned to Olsen to infuse the historic charmer with color and personality. The result is a high-wattage, exuberant version
