Happy Friday! I know it’s been a while since my last Friday Favorites post, but between the holidays and all of the excitement and work involved in getting our new shop, Paloma & Co up and running–more on that below, I haven’t had quite as much time to blog lately as I would like to. I hope 2019 is off to a great start for you. Here’s what has been on my radar lately.
Design: It’s no secret that I am a total Francophile! I dream of someday having a little pied-a-terre in Paris and enjoying all of the trappings of French life. As such, I am totally enamored with Jason Basmajian’s charming pink house just outside of Paris in the Sancerre region of the wine country. Can you think of anything better than that? Take the full tour here.
Style: I first noticed Le Monde Beryl‘s chic mules online about a year ago. The modern interpretation of Venetian slippers is executed in luxe materials such as velvet, satin, and leopard calf hair. My friend Devon recently bought a couple of pairs and after seeing her wear them and hearing how comfortable they are, I ordered some myself and I am obsessed! The leopard mules are finally back in stock after being sold out for a while, so I just ordered a pair! FYI, they run a little small, so I would recommend up going up half a size.
Watch: Over the holidays, we watched a new documentary series on Netflix called 7 Days Out which chronicles the week leading up to iconic events. Both Fabian and I were fascinated by the episode about the Chanel couture fashion show. It was incredible to see the insane amount of work it takes to bring Karl Lagerfeld’s amazing vision to life. The episode about the opening of 11 Madison Park was also great!
Events: Now that we are comfortably into the New Year, I will be going back out on the book tour circuit, although with less intensity and frequency than I did in the fall. My first stop of 2019 will be at my friend, Sarah Bartholomew’s beautiful shop in Nashville, SB on Saturday, February 2nd from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. If you live in Nashville or plan to be there that weekend for the Nashville Antiques & Gardens Show, I hope you’ll come say hello and pick up a signed copy of my book!
Shop: In case you haven’t heard, I have been working non-stop for the past six months on a very exciting new project– a shop called Paloma & Co! This passion project is a true labor of love and has been a lifelong dream that I am excited to bring to life with my partner in this venture, my good friend, Devon Liedtke. Paloma & Co is the culmination of our shared passion for beautiful, interesting things that tell a story. We have curated a beautiful assortment featuring French antiques, original art from emerging Southern artists, interesting objets found on our travels, along with stylish tabletop and gift items. Our doors will officially open in Houston this Wednesday, January 16th and will launch an online shopping experience this spring!
