Does anyone else feel like time has become a completely abstract concept as of late? It feels as if time is simultaneously inching by at a snail’s pace yet also flying by so quickly. How is it already Friday again? How has it been four weeks since we began to work from home and practice social distancing? I am curious about how all of you have been using your time. Going into this, I thought I would have extra time to read, go through by library of design books, watch movies, exercise everyday and so on. Instead, I have thankfully been busy with work and the podcast which I know is a tremendous blessing. That said, I’ve been having a harder time turning work off in the evenings because I live and work in the same place now. By the time the weekends roll around, I find that I haven’t been feeling super motivated. I haven’t organized a single thing in my house or read a single book yet. I know a lot of people are also struggling to find balance, especially those of you who are working from home and having to care for and home school your children! Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining at all. We are immensely lucky to be healthy and safe with the ability to continue working from home. So many people aren’t. I am just reflecting on this incredibly surreal moment. I am trying to navigate my social media with sensitivity, and yet, I know that like me, many of you need a distraction as well as a sense of normalcy. As such, here are a few recent finds that I hope will brighten your day.

ONE: Are you familiar with Nowness? It’s a pretty cool “global video channel airing the best in culture”. Admittedly, some of it is over my head BUT, their “In Residence” series is fantastic. I heard about this through artist, William McLure who recommended I watch the tour of Rose Uniacke’s breathtaking London home. She is an incredible talent and the way she describes the spirit of her home is so moving. Watch it here.

TWO: Speaking of William McLure, we have a new episode of The Style Files Podcast featuring the talented artist and Instagram sensation! And in case you missed it my dear friend, the insanely talented and fiercely intelligent Young Huh joined us for an episode that debuted on Wednesday. You can tune in to The Style Files Podcast on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts or directly on our website.

THREE: I am still making an effort to get dressed everyday. I just feel better when I do, not to mention, we are still conducting lots of meetings via Zoom, so it is important to look put together. Since I’m at home, I have been dressing more casually and definitely with comfort in mind. As such, I have been living in my Le Monde Beryl Venetian mules. I especially love the raffia ones for spring, but also have the leopard and velvet ones. They look chic with everything and they are super comfortable because they have memory foam insoles, so it feels like you’re wearing slippers all day!

FOUR: Like so many others, health and immunity are active concerns now more than ever. I recently tried 8 Greens for the first time and both Fabian and I are big fans. The effervescent tablets pack a big bunch with a major dose of vitamins and nutrients derived from either real greens: spinach, wheatgrass, kale, blue green algae, spirulina, aloe vera, chlorella, and barley grass. It’s super easy to drink thanks to a refreshing lemon-lime flavor.

FIVE: If you’ve been participating in Zoom meetings lately, but your backdrop could use an upgrade, check out these fun backgrounds from One Kings Lane!
