As I sit down to write this, I can hardly believe that Christmas is five days away and that this will be the last Friday Favorites of the year. I know that I haven’t written my blog as consistently this year as I have for the last 12 years. This year has left me with less time to do so and I have found that Instagram is an easier way for me to engage with you on a daily basis. That being said, I still love this blog and the community here, so thank you for your patience and continued support. 2019 has been an incredible year of growth and wonderful milestones, but it has also been one of the most personally and professionally demanding years I can think of in recent memory. Needless to say, I am ready for the holiday break. Have a wonderful weekend!
Design: AD is featuring the new apartment design legends Bunny Williams and John Rosselli recently purchased. Each room is beautiful and so thoughtfully designed. I really enjoyed this video tour in which Bunny explains why she selected many of the pieces and finishes in her home.
Read: I have known Arkansas-based designer, Tobi Fairley since I started writing La Dolce Vita back in 2007 when there were very few design bloggers. I remember meeting her on my very first trip to High Point over ten years ago. In addition to being a talented designer, Tobi is also a business consultant and was recently interviewed by Forbes. This article is a must-read for anyone with a creative business. She really digs deep into why creativity and a financially viable business are not mutually exclusive.
Watch: Have you watched the third season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel yet? It has been on my list for a couple of weeks and I am hoping to watch this weekend, although I have heard mixed reviews. If you’ve watched it, what did you think?
Events: While 2019 isn’t quite over yet, my calendar is starting to fill up with design and work events for 2020. First up, I will be heading to Atlanta’s Gift & Home Furnishings Market to “Shop the Show” at AmericasMart. I am also very excited to share that I will be the honorary chair for the 2020 Lake Forest Infant Welfare Showhouse and am also designing the dining room in the house. I am so excited to participate in this wonderful showhouse and to spend more time in Lake Forest!
