Hello everyone, Nancy of Marcus Design here with another Dissecting the Details installment! With the holiday season upon us, I find I am always on the lookout for dining room inspiration. I love a gorgeous tabletop spread, and I love to see how designers create inviting spaces for family & friends to enjoy together. Brittany Bromley constantly inspires me; the Bedford NY-based designer shows us how to dine in effortless style, with the perfect mix of comfort & class. Let’s look at 3 key features Brittany utilizes to accomplish this:
Whether several pieces grouped together or a single stand-out piece, the artwork in each of these spaces really does make the room sing. Look back at the images above and imagine the space without the art – the same feeling in each room could never be accomplished without it! I also love the addition of a mirror or two, not only does it expand the space but it also adds another element of sparkle.
Wallpaper is definitely a go-to for Brittany’s stunning dining room designs. I adore the texture in the grasscloth examples above, and I’m a huge fan of the Sandberg Raphael pattern. Note that in almost every room featured in this post Brittany has implemented a stand out wallpaper. An all-over wallcovering makes for a cocoon-effect that will surely have your guests feeling cozy.
Brittany is a master at mixing gorgeous deep hues, luxurious linens, and special touches to her tabletop decor. I adore her use of traditional China patterns, or even the beautiful fresh look of Christopher Spitzmiller’s marbelized plates. Add a monogrammed napkin, a gorgeous place card holder like the charming elephants in the second-to-last image, and you will be sure to impress your guests this holiday season!
And there you have it, three key elements Brittany uses in her lovely dining spaces. Be sure to follow her instagram and check out her portfolio for more of her stunning work. Until next time!
