Every weekend since we returned from France, I have spent each weekend dreaming of our next trip (we plan to spend more time in the South next time!) and looking at French real estate from Parisian pied-a-terres to charming country houses and old chateau. It’s so fun to see architecture that has withstood centuries, especially when I live in a city as young as Houston that is just over 100 years old. As I delved down the rabbit hole, I came across the most charming house dating back as far as the 14th century on the town square in the city of Aquitaine in the Bordeaux region. I know that there must be tremendous challenges to maintaining a house that dates back hundreds of years, but it just radiates charm! Can you imagine staying or living here at the height of autumn with the wine country at your feet? Evidently, this beautiful home was restored by an art expert who previously worked for Christie’s which makes perfect sense because the interiors are impeccably chic. Every update feels appropriate for the architecture. I don’t know much about this particular town, but the price of 695,000 euros seems like a great deal for the fully restored 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house, especially in contrast to the prices in Paris. You can view the full listing here.
