Happy Friday! It has been such a whirlwind week as short ones tend to be. We are heading to Jamaica today and I have had a really demanding week at work, so it feels like I haven’t had a second to come up for air. As such, I’ll try to keep this short and sweet! Have a wonderful weekend!

Style: Stubbs & Wootton, the classic shoemaker who specializes in the chicest slippers has just collaborated with revered English textiles house, Colefax & Fowler on a collection of embroidered velvet slippers inspired by Colefax & Fowler’s most iconic fabrics. I am particularly taken with the moss green Bowood slippers! You can see all of the styles here.

Design: The July/August issue of Veranda just hit newsstands and is filled with inspiring features. I am especially loving the Bahamian project by Miles Redd. I love his classic-meets-playful sensibility and as you can imagine, I am currently in an island state of mind, so this is right up my alley!

Watch: Last weekend, we caught up on all of the episodes of the new music competition show on NBC called Songland. It is the most exciting show we have watched in a long time. There are three celebrity music producers and each week, they have a guest judge such as The Jonas Brothers, John Legend, and Meghan Trainor who audition songwriters who have written songs for the recording artists to cut for their records. It is incredible to see how quickly these talented musicians can think on their feet and virtually create magic out of thin air by changing a verse, adding a chord, modifying a melody and so on.

Follow: If you aren’t following @chateaugudanes and happen to love old houses, you should definitely follow this account! They have chronicled the journey of restoring a centuries-old French chateau and the images are breathtaking.

Shop: Anytime I travel somewhere warm in the summer, I like to take a straw hat with me. However, I hate having to wear it on the plane so that it doesn’t get crushed in my suitcase. I get bad anxiety from turbulence and don’t generally prefer to make small talk with my seat mates so I always fly with my Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones which don’t exactly mesh with a hat. I recently discovered a super chic hat line from California called Janessa Leone. They have hats in countless silhouettes from classic wide brim fedoras to stylish visors. I recently ordered one of their Packable Straw Hats which can go in your suitcase without losing its shape. I have already worn it at home and love it, so I am super excited to take it on this trip!
