Happy Friday! Are you ready for the long weekend? I certainly am. I have quite a few irons in the fire right now, so while every day this week has felt extremely productive, I am also left feeling that there just aren’t enough hours in the day!
Design: One of my favorite restaurants in Paris is Loulou at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs at the Louvre. The setting is absolutely stunning. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, we sat on the terrace which was lovely as it overlooks the gorgeous Louvre and Tuileries and also has views of the Eiffel Tower, but I couldn’t help but wish we had been able to sit inside the stunningly chic dining room designed by Joseph Dirand. The space features a beautiful mix of materials from amber velvet, caning, plaster, and antique brass, to the most stunning marble. I love a marble with so much veining that it mimics a beautiful Roquefort cheese! I could literally sit and dissect every gorgeous detail of the space for hours. And if you’re wondering, the food is also fantastic.
Style: I recently started following Susi Rejano, founder of Barcelon boutique, Brilliant Barcelona on Instagram and have loved seeing her chic, easy style. She has a relaxed, ease and prefers pants over dresses, yet always looks incredibly polished and chic. Whose style do you enjoy seeing on Instagram?
Listen: Time really seems to fly as life goes on and gets busier. Can you believe this year marks the 20th anniversary of Lauryn Hill’s influential album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill? I loved this album in high school. Lauryn’s voice is as enduring and powerful and like all good music, the entire album continues to resonate.
Read: It feels a little bit like I am waiting for Christmas because my book, Dream Design Live will officially be released this coming Tuesday, September 4th! So far, it has received really great feedback, for which I am incredibly grateful! Writing a book and sharing your work feels a little like laying yourself bare before the world. It is a very vulnerable position to be in and you just hope that people like it. My goal is for the book to not only inspire you with its beautiful imagery, but for it to also be a useful resource that you can return to again and again for valuable design takeaways that you can apply to your own home. I can’t wait for everyone to get it! Thank you to all of you who have already pre-ordered it!
